Who's running for what?

The Board of Directors (BoD) consists of Pres, VP, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, and 9 other general directors knows as Directors-At-Large.  That makes a total of 13 directors on the board.  Please come out and vote.  If you know you can't make it, please request an an absentee ballot.  Absentee ballots must be requested in writing, at least 10 days prior to the election, and personally delivered sealed to the Recording Secretary prior to the start of the Annual /Election Meeting.

Members need to have declared their intention to run for a position by Jan 31, in writing (letter, or via email), to the PFG Recording Secretary.  Please consult the official PFG Club By-laws for detailed information.

For 2008, we will elect Pres, VP, Rec Sec, and 3 Directors-At-Large.  The following have declared their intention to accept nomination and if elected, to hold office:

Voting members may cast their vote at the March meeting of the general membership, held at the main clubhouse.  Consult PFG By-laws for details.

6.2 Voting members in good standing wishing to run for office must declare, to the Recording Secretary prior to February 1st, their intentions to accept nomination and if elected, hold office.

6.3 At the February membership meeting the Recording Secretary shall read the list of eligible candidates. In order for the candidate’s name to appear on the ballot they must be nominated then seconded by any other voting members in good standing at the February membership meeting; write-ins are not allowed and will not be counted on any ballots.

6.4 At the March Annual/Election meeting the candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected to the open position they were nominated for. Candidates for Directors at Large receiving the highest number of votes will fill the full term positions, any less than full term positions will be filled by candidates receiving the next highest votes in numerical order. Drawing of straws, short straw wins, will break ties.

6.5 Any voting member, who is not prohibited by New Hampshire law from owning or possessing a firearm, is eligible to hold office if he/she fulfills all of the other requirements as set forth herein for the specific position.

6.6 Eligibility for the Office of President or Vice President – No member shall be eligible unless they have served two or more years on the BOD.

6.7 Eligibility for Office of Recording Secretary, Treasurer and/or Director at Large – No member shall be eligible for Office pursuant to 6.8, unless they have been a member in good standing for the prior two years.

6.8 Terms of Office:

The President shall serve for a period of one year or until a successor has been named and takes office.

The Vice-President shall serve for a period of one year or until a successor has been named and takes office.

The Recording Secretary shall serve for a period of two years or until a successor has been named and takes office.

The Treasurer shall serve for a period of two years or until a successor has been named and takes office.

Directors at Large serve for a period of three years or for the remaining term for which they were elected/appointed.

6.9 Elections: The election committee shall mail, or cause to be mailed (no less than 15 days prior to the election), the names of each candidate for each office, with an optional candidate statement not to exceed 250 words. This information may be part of the newsletter. No candidate shall conduct any further written solicitation, nor shall any candidate allow others to solicit in writing on their behalf.

6.10 Votes cast by members must be done either in person at the Annual/Elections Meeting, or by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots must be requested in writing, at least 10 days prior to the election, and personally delivered sealed to the Recording Secretary prior to the start of the Annual /Election Meeting. Proxy voting is not allowed except as otherwise stated in these By-Laws.

6.11 Ballots shall be provided for the vote, listing all eligible for office. If an office is contested, the names of those seeking office shall be randomly drawn by the election committee during the February general meeting and listed on the ballot as drawn. Incumbents shall be indicated by an (I) next to their names.

6.12 Assumption of Office: Those duly elected to the BOD shall join the outgoing BOD at the April BOD meeting. The new BOD members shall assume their positions at the conclusion of that meeting.

6.13 Order of Succession: President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, followed by the Director at Large continuously holding office the longest (a tie being settled by a simple majority vote of the BOD) as determined by the PF&G records.
